TickTune — End User License Agreement / Terms of Use (Draft)

Version 1.1-draft · 2026-07-24 · English is the canonical language of this document; the Vietnamese translation at /legal/eula is provided for convenience. This draft is written by the developer, not by a lawyer, and is provided for a free, open-source, non-commercial web application.

1. Acceptance

By checking the box and clicking Accept on first use (the “Legal Gate”), you agree to these terms, the Disclaimer, and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use TickTune. Acceptance is stored locally on your device only; if these documents change materially, the gate is shown again.

2. The software & license

TickTune’s source code is licensed under GNU GPL-3.0-only — see LICENSE in the repository (https://github.com/poli0981/ticktune). You may use, study, modify, and redistribute it under the GPL’s terms. This EULA governs your use of the hosted service at the official domain; it does not restrict any right the GPL grants you over the code.

3. Your content, your responsibility

TickTune plays media you supply — local audio files, images for backgrounds, and YouTube links. You are solely responsible for having the necessary rights to the content you load and for complying with the laws that apply to you. TickTune does not upload, store, or transmit your files (see Privacy Policy) and cannot review what you play.

4. YouTube mode

YouTube playback uses the official embedded YouTube player. When you use it, you are also bound by YouTube’s Terms of Service and Google’s Privacy Policy. Availability of any video (deletion, embedding restrictions, age or region restrictions) is controlled by YouTube and the video owner, not by TickTune.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use TickTune to violate law or third-party rights; do not attempt to abuse, overload, or circumvent protections of the hosted service (including the /api endpoint). The hosted service may apply rate limits.

6. No warranty · limitation of liability

TickTune is provided “AS IS”, without warranty of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in the spirit of GPL-3.0 §15–§16. To the same maximum extent, the developer is not liable for any damages arising from use or inability to use TickTune, including data loss (note: playlists are session-only by design and are lost on reload — the app warns before unload).

7. Changes & termination

The service is free and provided with no uptime commitment; it may change or be discontinued at any time. The code remains available under GPL-3.0 regardless.
